Notifying the public

When your planning permit application is lodged with us, one of our planners will determine if public notification is required.

Depending on the size and possible impacts of your application, the public could be notified by:

  • direct mail
  • on-site signage
  • advertisements in the local newspapers

Your planning application may be added to our advertised planning application list. All members of the public can view your planning application.

If you need to notify the public it must be carried out for a period of at least 14 consecutive days. During the 14 day period any person can make a submission either in support or objection to your proposed planning permit.
