Council has received an application to amend the currently approved Development Plan associated with the above site.
There are no formal third party notification or review (appeal) rights for an application to amend a Development Plan. However, in determining the application Council can have regard to public comments received.

 

Features of the proposal include:

 

The amendments to the Development Plan proposed in the application include:

Increase in height of built form from six to nine storeys in the Central Precinct (north of Khartoum St) and use of the building as a retirement village;
A building for retirement living accommodation of up to four-storeys at the north-west of Bendigo and Khartoum Streets (Central Precinct);
An aged care facility of up to six storeys in the South Precinct (south of Khartoum St);
A building for affordable housing of up to three-storeys in the South Precinct to Stawell St; and
An increase in height of townhouses across Stawell St, the extended Kennedy Ave. and at the south-east corner of Khartoum St. from two and three storeys to three storeys.
