Important information before applying
With the application, you will need to supply all of the following:
- enter all the required information
- provide the business address and proposed parklet location
- attach professionally drawn and designed parklet plans (depending on your parklet design you may require a Certificate of Compliance (Reg 126)
- attach public liability insurance and other supporting documentation and;
- enter your details
Proposed Parklet/Site Plans
If you are considering building a deck/structure/overhead structure you will need to engage a professional to draw your plans to scale in line with all the Parklet Policy & Design Guidelines requirements.
Your plan/drawings for the proposed parklet will need to make sure it considers and has all of the below information:
- All necessary setbacks as per the policy (example: 500mm from adjoining usual parking bays)
- All dimensions need to be provided and the site plan must provide context of it being in the proposed area and also have a cross-section view
- List of all necessary materials being used for the parklet
- Ramps/Accessibility should be factored into the design
- Edge treatments such as concrete planters for vehicle protection
- How barriers/balustrades will be affixed to the edge treatments or deck

Existing temporary parklets
If you have an existing parklet from the temporary program last year you can keep your parklet as it is until 30 June 2022. However, from 1 July 2022 all parklets must meet our new Parklet Policy and Design Guidelines. There may be some existing temporary parklets that will not meet the new permanent parklet policy and guidelines. If you do want to make changes then you will need to go through these steps and your parklet must meet the new policy and guidelines.
