To renew your footpath trading permit you will need to:

• make payment for the full year.
• supply a current copy of your public liability insurance (also known as Certificate of Currency) if you haven't already. Your renewal notice will show the public liability insurance expiry date we have on file, if it is due to expire on 30 September or has expired you will need to provide this for your permit to be renewed.

We have been and will send you an automated reminder before your public liability is due to expire throughout the year to make this easier.

Important: You must hold a minimum of $20 million public liability insurance, this has increased from $10 million. If you currently hold $10 million, you will need to increase it by 30 September 2022 so that your new annual permit can be issued.

Your payment reference number is located on your footpath trading renewal notice, it will begin with FPT. Your renewal notice will provide all payment options available.

Submit your public liability insurance

If your public liability insurance is close to expiring or has expired on our records and you do not provide a current copy, we will not issue a new permit. When submitting your public liability, you will need to have your footpath trading permit number.

Once you renew your permit, it will be valid for a full year and expire 30 September 2024.

The footpath trading permit is from 1 October - 30 September the following year

You can update your details by simply submitting an online request.

Please let us know if any of the following have changed:

• Email address (We will be sending correspondence electronically unless otherwise advised)
• Contact details (phone, mobile or postal address)
• If you have recently closed or sold your business

If you would like to reduce or increase the amount of approved items, you will need to complete variation to your permit and provide a site plan indicating the placement of items and how many items you are proposing to have.

We have created templates for businesses to use to make this easier, please see below and download the most applicable one to you. Site plans must include all items and dimensions.

Once you have completed your site plan, you can submit the new site plan along with your permit number below.
