In honour of International Women’s Day 2021, we’re very excited to announce a suite of 3 special events to celebrate the incredible contributions that women make to our community. 

Our hope is that these events will offer women in Yarra (and beyond) an opportunity to try something new, learn something new or take some time to nurture their own health and wellbeing.

Monday 8 March: Women play free all day at Burnley Golf Course

If you're a keen golfer ready for your next game, or you've dreamed of playing golf but never had the time, well here’s your chance! On Monday 8 March women play free all day at Burnley.

Our friendly staff will help you hire clubs if you need them and you can even have a play around in our practice facilities before you set out for a round. Tell your friends and book online.

Thursday 11 March: An evening with celebrated hall of famer and world champion triathlete, Emma Carney

Australian Sports Hall of Famer and world champion triathlete, Emma Carney, is joining us for a special evening at Fitzroy Swimming Pool from 6pm to 7pm.

She’ll share stories about her life as a woman in sport; the challenges, the highlights and everything in between.  

There will be delicious refreshments available – this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a healthy and wholesome Saturday night with your YL fam! 

Tickets are free but be sure to book online via Eventbrite as spaces are limited. 

Saturday 13 March: A special free edition of Women Making Waves

Join us for a very special free edition of Women Making Waves at Collingwood Leisure Centre from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. We'll have a yoga class and aqua class for you to participate in, or you can enjoy casual access to the gym, pools, spa and sauna.

Women of all ages, cultures and abilities are welcome, although boys under 5 years are welcome too. We only roster female staff and use blinds to cover the windows in the pool and place a screen in front of the door. 

No bookings are required, just enter at reception.
