In keeping with the State Government’s Roadmap for Reopening, Yarra Libraries is pleased to provide click-and-collect services from Monday 21 September at Bargoonga Nganjin North Fitzroy Library, Carlton Library, Fitzroy Library and Richmond Library.

These branches will be open 10am-4pm Monday-Friday and 10am-12pm Saturday for members to collect their holds.

Collingwood Library remains closed due to ongoing building works.

How click and collect works

• Place items on hold via the library catalogue
• Wait for notification that items are ready to be collected
• Present your library card or ID at the library entrance

To ensure your health and safety, a library staff member will take care of the check-out process and place your items within reach. Items will be issued for three weeks and can be returned through the external library chutes at any time.

Returning items

Returns chutes are now open at all branches (except Collingwood Library) . If you’re finished with any borrowed items (including items from our Binge Bundles), please return them if it is safe for you to do so.

All members (especially those residing further than 5kms from our libraries) are welcome to keep their items a little longer; we do not charge late fees and have extended the due dates on all items to Wednesday 4 November.

Unwanted holds/reservations

If you have items on hold that you no longer need, please let us know (or cancel it via your online account) so we can allocate them to the next member waiting.

All holds destined for pick-up at Collingwood Library have had their pick-up location changed to Richmond Library.
If you would prefer another branch (or would like to wait until Collingwood Library has reopened), you can change the pick-up location via your online account or contact us for assistance.

Other library services

While our branches remain temporarily closed, the library remains open online and over the phone. For members residing more than 5kms away from our branches particularly, our programs will continue to be delivered online and our digital collections (including online resources like Ancestry and PressReader) remain accessible from home until further notice. Please note: Libraries Victoria (Swift) lending remains unavailable at this time. Members can only place holds on items held at a Yarra Libraries branch.
