Over the last year, we have been hearing from the community on ways we can make our streets safer.

In particular, we looked at how we can improve safety and manage traffic flow in Fitzroy North, Richmond and Abbotsford.

We received an overwhelming response from the community. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute.

Making our streets safer streets – particularly for children and pedestrians – were recurring themes in these consultations.

Based on what you told us, we’ve prepared plans for Fitzroy North, Richmond and Abbotsford.

Safety measures we plan to implement include:

  • More bike-friendly speed humps
  • More zebra crossings – including raised zebra crossings
  • Extended bike paths
  • Upgraded line marking, to be clearer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Take a look at the map to see what’s planned in your local area, or visit the project pages for Fitzroy North, Richmond and Abbotsford.
