The countdown is on to Leaps and Bounds

Thursday 28 June 2018

Australian singer-songwriter Laura Imbruglia says “there’s a certain brand of adrenaline you get when you play a great show that is pretty much inaccessible otherwise.”

Imbruglia joins an impressive line-up of talent performing at our annual Leaps and Bounds Musical Festival. The festival celebrates the abundance of live music venues in Yarra, their artists and their audiences.

“Yarra is where almost all of my live music consumption happens,” Imbruglia says. “Melbourne’s music community always seem to gravitate towards the 86 tram line (Gertrude Street, Smith Street, Queens Parade).” There are gigs to suit fans of every genre, age group and budget, including many free gigs.

Imbruglia will be performing a free show at The Old Bar on Saturday 14 July, supported by Tasmanian brother-sister duo Bulls.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing Bulls. I played a show with them a few years ago and they blew my mind,” Imbruglia says.

Participating venues include the Corner Hotel, the Rainbow Hotel, The Gasometer, The Tote and many other Yarra landmarks.

And as Imbruglia tells us, “Attending a Leaps and Bounds show is a great way to support local music venues, musos and fellow music lovers.”

Leaps and Bounds Musical Festival runs from 13 - 22 July at participating Yarra live music venues.
