Have you ever wanted to name a street in Yarra? Now is your chance!

We’re seeking name suggestions for two Yarra laneways, one in Richmond and the other in Collingwood.

The two laneways are located

• Behind 132 to 144, Bridge Road, Richmond, and
• Between 2 and 10 Stanley Street, Collingwood.

Suggestions are due by Friday, 16 March 2018.

The naming process is governed by our Naming of Roads Features and Localities Policy and allows us to recognise the history and cultural significance of an area or to honour the contributions of a person or group.

Your name suggestion could pay tribute the history of the area or acknowledge a person who has contributed to the local community.

It is our preference to use Woiwurrung (the language spoken by the Wurundjeri people) for place naming, but we will not use an aboriginal name without the express approval of the Wurundjeri Tribe.
