We’re encouraging safe and family-friendly celebrations in our parks and gardens this New Year’s Eve.

Alcohol is not permitted in public spaces in Yarra - including streets and parks - from 9pm on Saturday 30 December 2017 until 9am Monday 1 January 2018.

Other things to remember when visiting our parks over New Year’s:

  • Amplified music is not permitted
  • Leave glass at home
  • Clean up after yourself (and your dogs) and use the bins provided
  • Respect residents who live near the park.

There will be extra bins, toilets, lighting, security and clean-up crews in popular parks in Yarra to ensure a safe and relaxed environment to welcome in the new year.

We are also hosting a free and family-friendly celebration in Edinburgh Gardens, including a dog show and awards, food trucks and outdoor cinema for kids and adults.

We welcome celebrations in all of Yarra’s parks and gardens, but there will be zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour.
