Yarra City Council intends to set the Councillor and Mayoral allowances at the maximum level for a Category 2 Council, as determined by the Minister for Local Government. The maximum allowances, currently $24,127 for Councillors and $74,655 for the Mayor (plus an amount equivalent to the superannuation guarantee contribution), will be subject to any variations or adjustments made by the Minister.

Anyone may make a submission to Council regarding this proposal. All submissions received by 23 December 2016 will be considered by Council at 6.30pm on 7 February 2017 at Richmond Town Hall. A person making a submission is entitled to request in their submission to be heard, either in person or by a person specified in the submission.
