Facilities

Victoria Park is the former home of the Collingwood Football Club and has been transformed into a major community recreation space.

The park includes a fenced football oval, community centre at Victoria Park's Social Club building, public art and sculpture and is home to Collingwood Football Club's VFL matches – visitors are able to attend all games for free.

The old spectator terraces around the ground have been landscaped to provide a perfect place for picnics and barbeques with family and friends.

Features and facilities include

• BBQ and picnic tables (cannot reserve)
• Sports ground
• Drinking fountains
• Public toilet (located at the back of the Sherrin Stand off of Lulie Street, open during daylight hours)

Dogs

Dogs are allowed off-leash on the oval only when the ground is not in use for approved sporting events (including training).

Designated areas available for hire

Personal trainers are allowed to use the oval when not in use for approved sporting events (including training).

Events

To book the park for an event, provided it’s not being used for sporting events, you will require an event permit.

To book a space please log into our booking system. If you are a first time user please register with us.

Event Permit Requirements

You will need a permit if one of these conditions apply:

• There will be more than 50 attendee.
• Your event is catered by an external supplier.
• You are charging participants a fee to attend.
• You require amplified sound
• You require vehicle access to drop off equipment.
• Your event requires a specific location.
• You are having a wedding ceremony
• You plan to erect large structures (small 3x3 marquees are permitted: must be weighted down and secured safely. Spikes or pegs are strictly prohibited.)
• A minimum of two weeks’ notice is required for all potential permits. At least two months for large events
• The event permit must be carried out by the hirer at all times
• Alcohol may be consumed within the park between 9am and 9pm – no permit required. Alcohol may not be sold within the park without an appropriate temporary liquor license.

Victoria Park is wheelchair accessible.

Availability

Victoria Park oval is used by a number of community sporting groups and is booked for exclusive use as per the below schedule.

This schedule is subject to change and will be updated regularly to assist the wider community and dog walkers in planning their visits to Victoria Park.

The oval is open for the public to use outside of the hours listed below and lights will remain on Monday to Friday from dusk until 9pm between 4 April and 30 September annually.

Victoria Park may incur repair works from time to time. During these periods sections of the ground will be marked with temporary fencing. Please do not enter or allow your dog(s) to enter these areas.
