Started by Sustain Australia three years ago, this event is all about growing food in the city, cutting down waste, staying healthy, learning new skills, and meeting people. See what's happening in Yarra and other places here. 

Self-guided tour: Urban Agriculture in Yarra’s north

Pack and picnic and do some ‘food spotting’ along Yarra’s own rail trail, also known as the Inner Circle Rail Trail. Whether you walk or bike, it’s best to set aside at least two hours for this 6.5km round trip. If you want to meet some of the gardeners at either Rushall or Railway then check in which days people will be there via their websites.

Grow your own in Yarra

Our goal is to grow more urban gardens and bring people together. With 240 planter boxes and 25 community and laneway gardens, we're making Yarra greener together.

My Smart Garden is collaboration between many local councils, including Yarra, and gives free workshops and advice. It helps people in Melbourne learn about food, shelter, water, habitat, and waste in their gardens.
