What is treaty?

Treaty is our opportunity to tackle the racist legacies of invasion and create a better future together. We believe it’s time to negotiate treaties between our people and the Government of Victoria andwe’re establishing the foundations to enable that. Treaty is our opportunity to make sure we always have the freedom and power to make the decisions that affect our communities, our culture and our country. From 13 May to 3 June the Assembly is holding its Elections so mob can choose the people who will negotiate the statewide Treaty with the Victorian Government

The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria

The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria is the independent and democratically elected body to represent traditional owners of country and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Victoria. We believe it’s time to negotiate treaties between our people and the Government of Victoria and we’re creating a pathway to get there. Walk with us.
