Global and Local Context

The UN has designated the Decade of Healthy Ageing and the City of Yarra has committed to the age-friendly Victoria declaration as well as the WHO’s global age friendly cities guide. Progressive Councils throughout the world are using the WHO’s framework to create age-friendly cities based on eight domains that directly influence the quality of life and well-being of people 50+.

U3A Yarra City are building on the connections with interested community groups to organise a creative discussion about tailoring these big concepts and strategies into action at the local level that fits our specific environment and demographics.

This event has been modified to take it online due to the Covid19 restrictions. The aim is to hold a second event in early 2022 to allow face-to-face contact to facilitate networking.
