Online Business Lift-Off program

The Online Business Lift-Off program can help you start your own online business, whether or not you have an idea in mind.
You will learn:
- how to set up your own online business
- work to your own schedule
- be your own boss, and
- work towards financial independence.
Over the course of 12-weeks, the program takes you through:
- Finding and validating an idea – solve problems that people want solved.
- Setting your business up online – including the technical aspects, like your website.
- Connect you with your customers – create content that connects with your audience.
- Grow your business – continually improve on the things that matter to your customers.
There will be a mixture of face-to-face workshops and online content, where you will also have access to an online chat forum to keep up to date.
After completing the 12-week course, you will have an online business that you can continue to grow into the future!
You will have plenty of peer support and mentoring throughout the program.
Workshop dates
You will need to attend three workshops at Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library:
- Wednesday 25 March, 9.30am to 4.30pm
- Thursday 26 March, 9.30am to 4.30pm
- Monday 30 March, 9.30am to 4.30pm
Eligibility
You are eligible to be a part of the Online Business Lift-Off program for free if you are:
- a carer who is 26 or over, who provides personal care, support and assistance to someone in their immediate or extended family, who is disabled, injured, sick or elderly
- A job seeker between 50 and 64, who is receiving Newstart from Centrelink
- Over the age of 50 and at risk of long-term unemployment
Preparation
Participants will receive a series of emails prior to the workshops with some pre-work, instructions on what to expect and questions about their dietary requirements.
You should bring a laptop or tablet with you each day so you can participate in the exercises. You will be provided with a workbook to take notes and catering will be provided.

Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library is located at 182 St Georges Road, Fitzroy North.
Tram: Take route 11 tram to stop 21 Alfred Crescent and St Georges Road.
Train: Take Mernda train to Rushall station and walk 12 minutes
