Schools visits to the Islamic Museum
Tuesday 10 March 2020 - Tuesday 30 June 2020
Free student entry and subsidised transport costs to the Islamic Museum of Australia in Thornbury.
The Islamic Museum of Australia, based in Thornbury, offers a subsidised excursion program for schools based in the City of Yarra.
The museum enables students to discover the art, architecture and scientific contributions from Islamic Civilisations and the heritage of local Muslims in Australia dating back centuries.
Students from local government schools who have not yet visited the museum are able to visit for free and may also qualify for subsidised travel costs.
More than 25,000 students from across Victoria and interstate have visited the museum in the last 5 years, taking part in their curriculum aligned educational packages for primary and secondary students. All packages combine a presentation, Q&A, guided tour of the museum and interactive activities, including a new virtual reality workshop.
To take advantage of this opportunity, which ends on 30 June 2020, contact the Director of Education and Community Engagement, Sherene Hassan OAM, via email on [email protected] or 1300 915 171.
