Degustation For Dignity 2019

Friday 25 October 2019 -

Join us for Degustation for Dignity at Collingwood Town Hall on Friday 25 October, to enjoy delectable food and wine while helping to raise money for St Mary’s House of Welcome.

Renowned wine expert Max Allen will match an amazing selection of premium Australian wines to a seven-course degustation menu, before sharing his local wine expertise in a 'Masterclass' for guests. Each guest will receive a booklet with tasting notes and information on each wine they try.

A key part of the night is our major and silent auctions. There will be a great range of items up for auction, including gourmet food hampers, experience days, restaurant vouchers and cases of delicious wine (to name a few).

St Mary’s House of Welcome is a not-for-profit Open Access Centre in the heart of Fitzroy. It provides basic essential services to vulnerable people who are experiencing homelessness, poverty, severe and persistent mental health issues, and extreme isolation and social marginalisation. Many people who come to St Mary’s House of Welcome experience multiple issues.

St Mary’s House of Welcome has an open-door policy, menaing anyone who needs assistance can get practical assistance. This could be a meal, a shower and a change of clean clothes, or more specialist support such as information, referral to access specialist services, legal support and emergency relief. We also provide a comprehensive monthly program of structured activities (art and craft groups, fishing group, pool competition, choir, gardening) with an emphasis on creating greater social inclusion.
