Neighbourhood

Friday 17 May 2019 - Wednesday 12 June 2019

Neighbourhood celebrates art making at Holden Street Neighbourhood House. The works on display in this exhibition includes painting, drawing and printmaking from the All Abilities Art group on Tuesday afternoon and from scheduled art workshops throughout the year.

The collection is varied and each artist brings their own style and story to Neighbourhood. The common theme to much of the work created here is what we see and notice in our immediate surrounds such as houses, parkland, dogs and birds but there is also an exploration of feeling 'at home'. But most importantly this artwork has come from individual artists working in a group, not in isolation.  Participants have not only shared paint brushes and water jars around a table, but also conversation, ideas, funny stories and worries -  so it is very fitting that the works will be hung side by side in a cafe.
