Lets go plogging

Sunday 20 January 2019

If you like running and nature join the The Plastic Runner community and go 'plogging' in Yarra Bend Park while helping the environment by picking up rubbish on Sunday 20 January from 8.30am to 11am.

Born in Scandinavia, plogging is the combination of jogging and picking up rubbish, helping the environment while keeping yourself active.

Come and join a friendly community for a fun 5km to 10km run around Yarra Bend Park where you will help your community while learning how to be an environmentally responsible runner.

All levels of running and walking ability are welcome.

There will be coffee, chats, and vegan treats to share and enjoy after you finish your fun run at the Studley Boathouse Cafe.

Make sure to bring:

  • active clothes according to weather conditions
  • running shoes
  • abag for rubbish
  • glove (could be a gardening glove)
  • water
  • smiles.

No RSVP needed, just turn up and meet at the picnic tables next to the toilets and carpark at Studley Boathouse cafe.  A supervisor will meet you there wearing a high-visibility vest, and we provide all the materials.

If you can't attend this session, you can attend one in the coming months:

Plogging events take place are once a month and may expand to other parks nearby in the near future.
