Come along to the inaugural 1km Buddy Run at Alexandra Gardens on Sunday 21 October from 10am to support and raise funds for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and say no to bullying. 

The national children's charity, Alannah & Madeline Foundation, in partnership with the Victorian Government hope that this anti-bullying fun run will raise awareness about the harms of bullying as one in four children are bullied during their time in school.The effect can be severe and can impact self-esteem, behaviour and being able to succeed at school.

Being bullied over a long time can contribute to serious mental health issues. No child should have to experience bullying, all children should feel safe, respected and included.

This event, filled with fun family activities, promotes social inclusion, respect, and taking a stand against bullying. The Buddy Run is a 1km fun run for children, and parents can relax and enjoy lots of activities, stalls and entertainers!

You are encouraged to have fun, show your creative side and wear all things purple. Just make sure your outfit is safe to run in and will not be a hazard to yourself or other participants. After the run, visit the event village where kids will be entertained with loads of fun-filled activities.

You must register to attend, even if you are not planning on running. You can register as a family or an individual. 

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12.50 for 5 to 16 year olds, and free for children under 5 years old.

When you register you will receive a fundraising kit with instructions on how to fundraise, which also includes a Buddy Run t-shirt! 

You can raise funds as a family by asking friends, family, colleagues and your community to help support the cause leading up to the day. All funds raised go to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.
