Neighbourhood Social

Tuesday 28 August 2018

Come along to the Fitzroy Community Garden at 125 Napier St Fitzroy from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on the last Tuesday of every month beginning on Tuesday 27 February to share a free dinner and engage in conversation with your neighbours.

Neighbourhood Social in partnership with Cultivating Community Fitzroy hosts not-for-profit joyous little pop-up events that are designed to connect you with the fellow neighbours of your community in a culinary choose-your-own-adventure game.

The events are part of their not-for-profit Grow.Cook.Eat.Play initiative and the events are completely free of charge. All you need to bring is a dish, big or small, from your culture to share with your neighbours. In exchange, you get the opportunity to join in the feast with your community, share stories, spark conversation and ideas while expanding your sense of home beyond the walls of your house and right out into the streets where you live.

Neighbourhood Social hopes to ignite some exciting collective conversations, and they think every neighbourhood should have one!

The evenings will be refreshingly phone-free, allowing neighbours young and old, from all backgrounds, to connect with each other and celebrate local diversity over the simple joy of homemade food. It is recommended that you tag your dish if required so people know if it's gluten free/vegetarian or vegan friendly.

Dinners are limited to 30 seats (to keep them cosy) but there's plenty of standing room in the garden.
