Ms Millie’s Pop-Up Poetry Cafe
Saturday 28 July 2018
Ms Millie showcases spoken creativity via storytelling, song and poetry. The night will feature lyrical spoken word artist, Kyah, supported by the acclaimed contortionist, Soliana, and an open mic session. You can also enjoy sweet treats baked by your host, Ms Millie.
Ms Millie’s is the brain child of Jay Larkin after she greedily wanted to enjoy two of her favourite things in one night, poetry and sweets. With a variety of vegan and non-vegan sweets that are variations of her grandmother’s family recipes and personal collection, the pop-up café will not only feed your soul but your belly as well. Apart from baking up a variety of sweets and organising monthly gatherings, Jay Larkin also performs poetry centred on her passion for feminism and cultural identity. Jay’s poems are like pages from her diary.
