Weave Movement Theatre 2017 Workshop Program
Monday 19 June 2017 - Saturday 01 July 2017
Weave Movement Theatre, a dance/physical theatre company of performers with a disability, invites other performers with a disability to participate in professional development workshops led by high calibre artists at Dancehouse in 2017.
There are many barriers to artists with a disability attending mainstream classes and tertiary courses in the performing arts. The Weave Movement workshops will provide an avenue for these performers to study and experiment in a fully accessible studio space.
Lead artists will include Tess De Quincy from BodyWeather and Sarah Fiddaman from Dirty Feet.
Weave has a history of collaborating with respected guest artists with and without a disability, providing intensive interactions between artists across a range of styles. These workshops at Dancehouse will serve as choreographic labs from which new ideas will arise and new collaborations will be born.
Funded by the City of Yarra’s Annual Grants Program.
