The role of the Disability Advisory Committee is to:
- provide advice and support to us on how we can improve the wellbeing of people with disability and their carers
- provide advice and support on matters including universal access, inclusion principles, best practice in Yarra City Council core activities
- assist in our advocacy role to promote access and inclusion at the broader level
Who are the members of the Disability Advisory Committee?
The Disability Advisory Committee comprises of people with disability, carers or family members of people with disability, and other people able to represent the views of Yarra residents with disability.
Councillor representatives are Cr Stephen Jolly and Cr Daniel Nguyen (Mayor). Councillors also chair alternate committee meetings.
Can I attend a Disability Advisory Committee meeting?
The Disability Advisory Committee meetings are open to members of the public. If you wish to attend a meeting please call us on 9205 5555 and ask for the Disability Planning Officer to find out meeting dates and discuss procedure before attending.
