What does the Disability Advisory Committee do?

The Disability Advisory Committee provides advice and support to us on how we can improve the wellbeing of people with disability and their carers.

Who are the members of the Disability Advisory Committee?

The committee’s membership includes people with disability, carers or family members of people with disability, and other people able to represent the views of Yarra residents with disability.

Cr Mike McEvoy and Cr Daniel Nguyen join the committee and chair alternate committee meetings.

What the Disability Advisory Committee aim to do?

The Disability Advisory Committee provides advice and support to Yarra City Council on several matters including:

  • universal access
  • inclusion principles
  • best practice in Yarra City Council core activities
  • assists in our advocacy role to promote access and inclusion at the broader level

Can I attend a Disability Advisory Committee meeting?

The Disability Advisory Committee meetings are open to members of the public. You can view the dates in our events calendar. Prior to a meeting visitors are required to call  Yarra City Council on 9205 5555 and ask for the Disability Planning Officer.
