You will work with, and effectively lead and motivate managers, staff and key stakeholders as required, facilitating a collaborative proactive approach to service provision, social policy, community development and health promotion. One of the overarching missions is to develop an integrated holistic and sustainable community based approach to community wellbeing and social justice.
The role which sits within the Executive team and reports directly to the CEO, will be responsible for leading the organisation and implementing a wide range of social and health initiatives placing Council at the forefront of social and community health coupled with wellbeing issues affecting people within the Yarra municipality. You will also actively oversee the strategic and day to day management of these teams and programs, including identifying and responding to new and emerging industry opportunities and trends. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution by contributing new ideas and striving for improvement.
To succeed in the role you will require the following:
- A sound understanding of the economic and social issues within this comprehensive portfolio
- Ability to contribute to the organisational strategic vision
- Significant leadership skills within an ever evolving business
- Demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills coupled with strong business and political acumen
- Experience in facilitating and managing change at all levels
- Experience in leading large numbers of staff and managing people matters
- Aspirations to develop and lead wider organisation and act as executive sponsor on projects outside of division
- Ability to represent the CEO as and when required
