The Yarra Municipal Public Health Plan 2005 - 2008 is about you, your family and friends, your community, your lifestyle, the places and spaces that you use, and the essential services and facilities that support good health and well-being.
The Plan has been developed following extensive research and community consultation. It recognises the importance of the health and well-being of our community, and provides an action plan which will enable Council to respond to a range of health priorities over the next 3 years.
The plan not only reflects the importance of your individual health - it is also about you and your social connection to your local community. Council aims to improve the quality of life that people in our richly diverse community enjoy, and to provide the best opportunities for people to fully participate in community programs and activities, and interact with each other.
Your local environment including the neighbourhood you live in and access to public space and facilities are important factors that affect your well-being and lifestyle, alongside individual health matters such as diet, exercise and physical mental health.
