Dogs off leash - Designated areas

In areas where dogs are allowed off their leash, they must be kept under effective control. This means the owner must be carrying a leash and be able to bring their dog under control immediately if necessary.

Council adopted a new Domestic Animal Management Plan, People and Their Pets, in February 2009. New on and off-lead guidelines for dog owners are expected to come into force in late September 2009.  More information will be available shortly.

In all other parks, and on streets and roads in the City of Yarra your dog is to remain on a leash at all times.
