First time at a gym or maybe its been a while…
Joining a new gym can be an intimidating thing, and even those who’ve exercised for a while know the importance of having guidance in the first few sessions of this healthy practice.
Yarra Leisure’s qualified Fitness Instructors will show you how to reach your health and fitness goals faster. We have a number of programs available to suit your lifestyle, goals and fitness levels, while at the same time protecting you from exercise-related injury.
Now is the time to revisit those fitness goals or set some new ones by attending any one of the sessions and programs detailed below. It's free for members and you'll learn some great new skills and training techniques.
Gym equipment tutorial sessions
In the gym equipment tutorial session you will be shown how to use the latest state of the art cardio gear which includes the new Adaptive Motion Trainer (AMT). The AMT is new to the industry and is at the forefront of contemporary cardio equipment.
You will also be shown how to use our pin loaded strength equipment and our functional free weights equipment. During the tutorial session you will have access to a functional based program that will get them started and shown ways on how to progress accordingly. The sessions are 30 minutes in length.

Small Group Training sessions
We are very excited to launch our Small Group Training sessions in 2016 which incorporates all elements of fitness.
With four different styles of classes, small group training sessions will cover all elements of fitness and give you the best opportunity to achieve your fitness and health goals. All sessions are conducted under the watchful eye of a highly qualified trainer who will provide motivation and ensure that correct technique and intensity levels are obtained. The sessions are conducted on the gym floor and last for 30 minutes in duration. The best part of it is, this is fully inclusive of your membership so you can have a trainer by your side, coaching you each step of the way.
HIIT: HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Using the latest in cardio equipment, you will do multiple short intervals on various equipment to get you fit, fast.
Pavi: A fun and functional training session on the interactive Pavi flooring. A combination of body weight exercises and free weights to test your strength, stamina, agility and more.
Strength: Class designed to help you improve your strength and better your technique on major lifts like squats, deadlifts, and presses.
X-Press: A high intensity circuit style class using machines and free weights. A great way to increase your mobilisation, this class is designed to test your muscular strength and endurance and get you toned.
The small group training sessions are suitable for all levels of fitness. Our instructors can modify sessions to suit individual needs.

Individual appointments with our Instructors are available at limited times at each centre.
We encourage all members to attend a tutorial session or small group training session as detailed above. However, if you would prefer to have a one on one chat with one of our Instructors please chat with our friendly customer service staff on your next visit to a centre or give us a call and we can book you in over the phone.
