Personal Care

Personal care services can assist you with important daily care tasks. We are able to provide direct assistance or support you to do as much as you are able to. The frequency of personal care services will be discussed with you during your home-based assessment.

Personal care services include:

  • toileting
  • showering
  • grooming
  • dressing
  • emptying commodes
  • assistance with eating
  • prompting with medication
  • some meal preparation
  • escorted shopping
  • other assistance to support your independence.

Personal care workers will help you with your personal needs in a sensitive and respectful manner.

All non-medical related personal care needs can be arranged through your assessment officer.

Medical or nursing tasks can usually be arranged through your doctor or local nursing service. If you are unsure, the assessment officers will provide you with advice and information and can arrange a referral.
