Playgroups

Playgroups are sessions where parents, carers, babies and children come together in a relaxed environment to play and socialise.

It is a time to talk, make friends and share experiences, while you and your children have fun and learn through play.

No child is ever too young for playgroup. All playgroups are different but the emphasis is on fun and friendship.

At playgroup babies and children can:

Learn more about their world Participate in new experiences Learn to play with other children Meet other adults Enjoy things like painting and pasting Have fun	Learn simple rules and routines Take part in outdoor and indoor free play Discover books and new toys Improve their problem solving abilities Explore messy play and music
Parents and carers can:
Meet other local families and share ideas and experiences Make new friends Play with their children in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere	Add variety to their week Follow up opportunities for their own personal development

Council's Early Childhood Services currently supports three playgroups in Yarra.
