Council’s New Domestic Waste Service for Businesses

Council is expanding its domestic rubbish and recycling collection service to include local commercial properties.

The service is for domestic waste only (like rubbish and recycling from tea rooms and offices) and does not replace commercial waste collection services.

There is a one-off fee to activate this new service and to provide each interested rateable property with a rubbish bin and recycling bin. Your collections will take place weekly and are provided at no extra cost.

Rateable commercial and industrial properties that sign up for the service can receive a once weekly waste and a recycling collection on the same day as the residential service.

Council can provide one service per rateable property. Businesses or suites that are part of the same rateable property should contact Council to find out how the service will work in these circumstances.

The service may not be applicable for every business but Council encourages business owners to register their interest for the service or by calling 9205 5555. You will need the property number, found on your rates notice. 

Once you register your interest, a Council officer will be in contact with you to activate the service or to discuss your eligibility for the service.
