Local Area Place Making
Yarra Council undertakes Local Area Placing Making (LAPM) studies to improve traffic conditions and road safety in local streets.
The studies consider what traffic treatments should be introduced to help improve local traffic conditions.
The studies look at issues such as traffic speed and volume, pedestrian safety and comfort, and how to calm traffic so that neighbourhoods are more liveable.
As part of the studies, residents and businesses are surveyed about the traffic issues in the area and proposed treatments.
There are 21 LAPM areas in Yarra. Below is a list of current and recently completed LAPM:

Traffic Study Group Charter
The Traffic Study Group Charter outlines the roles and responsibilities of members of the community who participate in a Traffic Study Group and provide recommendations to Council about how to improve local traffic conditions.
