Classical Music
Classical NetRegularly updated, and has very wide coverage. Comprehensive information is provided on musical periods and genres, with links to biographical data. Advice on starting and building a classical CD collection is also given. Highly recommended.
World Music
Putumayo World MusicWhile this is a commercial site, it is well designed and regularly maintained. Good links to World Music and related Arts and Culture sites.
Rock & Pop
Rolling StoneWhat more do you need? This is the online version of the famous magazine. Links to articles on music and politics, plus book and music reviews.
Blues & Jazz
The Blue HighwayArticles about the Blues, tributes to musicians, live and archived blues broadcasts and much more. A very well organized site.
A Passion for JazzFeatures a history of Jazz origins, styles and musicians. Well designed and easy to use. The in-text links are particularly handy.
