We offer free delivery of library material to people living in the City of Yarra who are unable to visit theirlocal library. We also visit nursing homes and other institutions. Clients are visited on a set day every four weeks.

The Home Library Service provides a full range of library services, including answers to requests for information, delivery of specifically requested titles in a variety of formats including:

Staff will talk to you about what your interests are and what sort of material you want including any specific titles you wish toreceive.

Who is eligible for the service?

You are able to receive the service if you cannot physically visit the library yourself because of illness, frailty or disability, and have no-one in your household to visit the library for you. You are also eligible if you are temporarily housebound. You must havea genuine need for the service.

You may be referred by a Health Care professional. Alternatively we are happy to visit you to make an assessment. If you receive Meals on Wheels and/or Home Help you are probably eligible for the service.
