In 1985 Jansch was going through a rough period in his life, so this album has an introspective feel. But he was still the real deal, displaying a voice tempered by time and his incomparable guitar skills.

Consistently good R&B, with Raitt’s trademark slide guitar. A terrific album from early 2016.

Stripped down Spanish garage rock. The Hinds are an all-girl group from Madrid who are quite happy just doing their lo-fi thing. Rough, uncomplicated and pretty damn good.

Don’t let the 80s hair put you off. This was a terrific collaboration between three Country singers at their peak, with their distinct but equally impressive voices melding into a whole that's more than the sum of its parts.
