Pools and Aquatic Activities

Council is committed to delivering a superior aquatic service and has been recognised for having safe and high quality pools.

Both Fitzroy pool and Richmond Recreation Centre have won ‘Metropolitan Facility of the Year’ awards.

Council also has a partnership with Lifesaving Victoria and participates in the Platinum Pool Safe Awards. This is a 200 point audit carried out by Lifesaving Victoria with a pass rating of 85%. All Council’s aquatic facilities scored a rating of 97% in the 2007 audit.

Whatever is your preferred swimming environment or activity Council has something to cater for everyone, including outdoor pools, indoor lap pools, as well as spas, saunas, steam rooms, water aerobics and squad training.

This pool is perfect for lap swimming. The athletes for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games used us for training, so it's got to be good!
