You probably thought Burnley Golf Course, like most golf courses, would have its own Golf Club – but it doesn’t!
One of Burnley Golf Course’s initiatives for 2007 is to establish an official golf club so that they can offer amateur competitions and Australian Handicaps to people wishing to join a club in the Richmond area.
To facilitate the formation of a club, the Course needs to affiliate with one of the governing bodies of golf in Victoria, such as the VGL (Victorian Golf League) who can rate the course and accept it into the league. For an application to the VGL to be accepted, Burnley Golf Course first needs to set-up an incorporated club, elect a small committee to manage it and have at least 35 current members. So, the Burnley Golf Course is looking for expressions of interest to join the club and or assist with its formation.
What would you get as a member of Burnley Golf Club?
Burnley Golf Course will be holding an information night in the near future to cover all aspects of the formation of the club.
If you are interested in joining please contact either Torsten Riedel or Michelle Scerri at Burnley on 9205 5048.
