The City of Yarra offers a range of leisure and recreation opportunities including beautiful parks and gardens, picturesque areas along the Yarra River, bike and walking paths, sports grounds, three multifunctional leisure facilities with gymnasiums and pools and a nine-hole golf course.
Council is committed to helping community members stay active, fit and healthy and has developed a number of plans and strategies to ensure everyone stays on track to achieve this.
Some of these plans and strategies include the Municipal Public Health Plan, the Encouraging and Increasing Walking Strategy, and the Yarra Sports Plan.
Council has also spent millions of dollars upgrading the Richmond Recreation Centre, Fitzroy Pool and Burnley Golf Cource and plans are in place to do the same with the Collingwood Leisure Centre.
