A permit system is in place for personal training activities in Yarra's parks. The system provides the opportunity for people to exercise, while also making sure commercial fitness activities do not prevent others from enjoying Yarra's parks.
Personal training sessions are permitted between 6.00am and 8.00pm in 23 parks and reserves across Yarra. Before holding a session in a Yarra park, personal trainers are required to obtain a permit which is based on the size of their training group and the number of sessions being held.
Please find below a list of personal trainers who currently have permits:

Why is a permit needed?
It is a requirement under the Crown Land Acts Amendment (Lease and Licence Terms) Act 2009 and under Council’s Local Law 2 that personal trainers and commercial fitness groups operating on public land hold a licence agreement with Council.
Permits are available for 23 parks in Yarra, comprising 18 Crown land parks and five Council land parks.
If you wish to hold a training session in a park then you need to first check which permit categories are allowed at which parks.
Please refer to the policy below to view terms and conditions and a list of available parks.
