Janet Millman Reserve is a green strip in Fitzroy North between Nicholson and Rae streets that forms part of the Capital City Trail.
Works in June/July 2013
In April 2013 Council distributed a letter to residents asking for feedback on proposed works at Janet Millman Reserve.
The feedback received indicated residents preference for the following:
- Retain the seating and picnic table to the south/west of the park
- Retain the significant sized trees near the car park
- Increase the number of car spaces in the car park.
The attached plan responds to this feedback, and shows the number of car spaces increasing from 14 to 17, while still retaining the significant trees.
The Hawthorn shrubs would still be removed.
Park works are scheduled to commence in late June, with improvements to the picnic area.
Works to extend the car park will commence in late June/early July and will take 2-3 weeks to complete. The car park will not be available for use during this time.
Further planting and grass remediation are scheduled to occur in late winter and early spring.
