Greenhouse

As a member of the Cities for Climate Protection campaign, managed by the International Council for Local Environment Initiatives (ICLEI), the City of Yarra has developed a Greenhouse Action Plan, outlining actions to help meet greenhouse reduction targets for Council operations and the community sector.

There are many simple things we can all do at home or at work to reduce Greenhouse emissions. Council has reduced its own greenhouse emissions by over 5% from its 2000 emission levels by purchasing 15% of its electricity supply for public lighting as accredited ‘Green Power’ and installing energy-saving LCD flat screens when replacing computer monitors.
