Disability Advisory Committee

The Committee’s membership includes people with a disability, carers or family members of people with a disability, and other people able to represent the views of Yarra residents living with a disability. Yarra Councillor Alison Clarke chairs the committee's meetings.

The Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month (excluding November, December and January) at the Willowview Centre, Eddy Court, Collingwood, from 4.00pm-6.00pm. The Committee will meet on the second Tuesday of November due to the Melbourne Cup public holiday.

The Committee provides advice and support to Council on several matters including:

  • The integration of  disability access and inclusion principles and best practice into the core activities of Council, and
  • Council’s advocacy role to promote access and inclusion at the broader level.
