Yarra Matters Panel

The Yarra Matters Panel is another way Council engages with the community and with people who may not be able to attend community meetings or other consultations.

The panel of 1000+ households provides feedback, ideas and information to Council about what matters to the Yarra community. It was formed in 2007 and has been reviewed to ensure it represents the demographic makeup of Yarra as closely as possible.

In 2011, the panel was surveyed on Council's customer service performance, alcohol use in public places and the development of a Swan Street Structure Plan. The panel's members were encouraged to participate in online discussions on options to reduce the harms caused by smoking and on affordable housing. Yarra Matters members have also participated in focus groups on tourism and on the development of a Business and Industrial Land Strategy.

For more information about the Yarra Matters Panel, please contact Clare Murrell, Consultation and Research Officer, on 9205 5154 or at yarramatters@yarracity.vic.gov.au
