Skip Bin Permits

The City of Yarra does not provide skips for hire.

When you hire a skip from a private company, the skip company needs to contact Council to obtain a permit if the bin will be placed in the street and not on your own property.

Many bin companies are accredited with the City of Yarra. If you hire a skip with one of these companies, they will arrange the permit for you.

If the skip company you choose is not registered with the City of Yarra, you may obtain the permit yourself from the Richmond Town Hall, 333 Bridget Road. This is
available between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm. A certificate of currency of public liability insurance for $10,000,000 is required.

Permit Costs

$33.00 per 3 day period - $15.00 per day after 3rd day
$20.00 per day for clearways only

Additional costs where the skip is placed in a metered parking space.
