Recycling
Your recycling is collected each week on the same day as you garbage. Your collection day can be found on the weekly collection schedule. Please make sure your bins are on the kerb before 5.00am on your collection day.
Remove all lids, rinse containers and crush all plastic bottles, cans and milk cartons.
Recyclable material
Items that can be recycled include:
- All glass bottles and jars
- Milk and juice cartons
- All plastic bottles and containers with codes 1 - 7
- All steel and aerosol cans
- All aluminium cans and clean foil
- Paper, newspapers, magazines, and cardboard
Non Recyclable materials
Non recyclables like nappies, ceramic cups and food scraps contaminate the recycling process. If you're unsure whether an item can be recycled, it's best to place it in the garbage bin.
Items that cannot be recycled include:
- Plastic bags
- Polystyrene
- Food Scraps
- Paint Tins
- Plates and crockery
- Nappies
- Electrical goods
- Batteries
Council also encourages residents to reuse items wherever possible.
On average, Council collects over 9000 tonnes of recycling each year.
