Interim policy for a temporary street closure

Street parties are a great way to socialise with neighbours and get to know your local community. To help you organise a safe and successful street party, please refer to Council’s Temporary street closure policy PDF.
In the policy, you will find all the steps to take to have your street party application approved by Council and also find details on how you can obtain the use of a FREE BBQ for your party.

An application form for a temporary road closure is available from the Access Points.

Timeframe

Application must be made 4 weeks prior to the event.

Costs

It may be possible for a Public Liability Insurance Policy for a residential street party to be arranged through Civic Mutual Plus at a current cost of approximately $160.00. They can be contacted on (Tel) 9860 3470. Strict conditions apply before such a policy can be issued.

There may be a nominal fee for the supply and erection of barricades and signs depending upon the purpose of the event.
