Council manages approximately $560 million worth of road and infrastructure including 260 kilometres of road pavement, 491 kilometres of footpaths, 491 kilometres of kerb and channel, 170 kilometres of storm water pipes and 85 kilometres of laneways.
The Road Management Plan sets goals and objectives to create a sustainable, safe and efficient transport system in partnership with the community.
Council is proposing an amendment to the Road Management Plan and Road Register that would add approximately 160 additional laneways to the Register.
Council has sought community feedback about the amendment to the Plan and will consider public submissions at the Planning, Environment and Infrastructure Committee meeting to be held at 8pm, Tuesday 1 December 2009 at the Fitzroy Town Hall.
Council will consider adopting the amended Road Management Plan and Road Register at its meeting to be held at 7pm, Tuesday 15 December 2009 at the Fitzroy Town Hall.
