Council manages approximately $560 million worth of road and infrastructure including 260 kilometres of road pavement, 491 kilometres of footpaths, 491 kilometres of kerb and channel, 170 kilometres of storm water pipes and 85 kilometres of laneways.
Council has developed policies and plans to ensure these assets are well managed and maintained.
Council is updating its Road Management Plan and Road Register
, both of which will apply for the following four years. The local community was invited to provide feedback on the proposed plan and register by 29 May 2009. Council officers will consider any feedback received and prepare a revised proposed plan and register for Council’s consideration and adoption in July 2009.

The SouthernLink section of the Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade includes the construction of an additional operating lane in each direction from the eastern Burnley and Domain tunnel portals, to where CityLink joins the Monash freeway just east of Glenferrie Road.
