Positive Ageing Strategy

couple with grandchild in parkCouncil is developing its next Positive Ageing Action Plan 2013-16.

The plan will assist Council to continue to build an age–friendly city where older people are at the forefront of our thinking, planning and design, policies and programs.

Yarra adopted its River of Life Positive Ageing Strategy in 2006. The new Action Plan for 2013-2016, which outlines a vision of ‘A city for all ages’ is now being developed. Council sought community feedback on the draft Action Plan in September and October 2013.

The Action Plan is shaped by the six key objectives of the River of Life Positive Ageing Strategy: Social connections; Active, healthy living; Supportive environments; Ageing in place; Lifelong learning; and, Community planning and partnerships.
