Food Act Registration

Renewal of Registration

All food premises must be registered with the Council as required under the Food Act 1984.  Registration allows food businesses to operate and is renewable annually.  The registration period expires on 31st December each year.  Council forwards applications to renew registration to each business in mid-October for payment by 30th November.  Late fees and potential prosecution apply to businesses who fail to renew their registration by the due date.

Transfer of Registration

It is the responsibility of the new proprietor of a food business to advise Council of change in business ownership.  The new owner is required to complete a Transfer of Registration application and submit Food Safety Program and Food Safety Supervisor information.
